john "pwick" bailey bigged this up in another thread (it's on RBMA at the moment apparently), Motto has already posted about it too

But I really love it and I think it deserves it's own thread so..

It took a while to make but it was worth it. 1.1 and Moxo Tengu delve through the collected works of Ra (mr tengu's Ra collection is, shall we say, not small) and put their heads together to deliver a fantastic journey through the crates of the mistake makin', rocket number 9in' original funny dressin' astral traveller.

I highly rate and recommend this. Beautiful artwork by Stephen Serrato as well.. Respect to the lot of em'.

nice one Nick... this is exactly what in need, as, apart from the occasional Peterson spin, i haven't heard many Ra offerings ph34r.gif

wicked project, very glad this is available to download as I never get to listen to RBMA despite it's awesome schedules. I'm gonna have some seriously astral trips around town with this drifting into my ears...

big respect to mamiko & max, not sure I can make other worlds this week but hope it continues to build.

Seen. I'm no longer involved with RBMA but I do believe they are working to facilitate listening in an ondemand universe.. We're all so picky and choosy these days aren't we. biggrin.gif

thanks so much for your ongoing support of the night, i think you lot deserve a week off smile.gif i'll be there propping up the bar (or Surra, which ever is closer) as usual!

peace

ps Gabs - this is a great start - more of the soulful end, less of the squealing!

Bloomin' marvellous! I have heard next to no Sun Ra at all, was actually going to ask for some reccomendations but this will do for my introduction.

Nice one Mr Beats!

One of my top favourites.. And I dare say, a GP classic. There's another version on Saturn with accapella vocal intro

that's the OG too.. you don't find them in Beano's for 50 p eh

Interesting and I thought you were just exagerating about the photos. Post them up lets see them, no excuses needed.

Really love the Sun Ra LP cover that has "India"; the one Gilles played at his Xmas party. Gilles kindly showed me the cover: wicked!

I'll check with the owner when I get home, if he's down then I'll stick a couple up.

Of particular interest are - the vast numbers of trophys, plaques and awards he was given - the infamous drum carved from the tree struck by lightening - and his personal libary with all those "forbidden" books.

Sadly, the Arkestra house has been looted over the years by enthusiasts and collectors and most of the synthesisers (including the original prototype "stolen" from bob moog) were sold / robbed etc.

A couple still remain at my friends house who took the pictures - they are mouth operated mono-synths that Marshall still plays on occasion. The craziest shit you've ever seen or heard.
