intital article
follow up article absolute toss. they're basically trying to "unmask" him before the mercury music prize. |

who writes that column?
to think they get paid for that. lets hope burials got himself a safehouse. -------------------- |

haha yeah, and to think its norman cook??!

"Conspiracy theories are rife as to who is behind the tunes, with producers NORMAN COOK and APHEX TWIN in the frame"
what a f***ing load of bollocks. |

Agree it is just nonsense 'journalism'. Two interviews with Burial From The Wire http://www.thewire.co.uk/articles/347/ and The Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2007/oct/26/urban |

lazy, uninspired, wholly ridiculous and unnecessary from a paper who have done f all on burial until his Mercury nomination. I can't even understand the motivation, what a foolish person.

So effectively, the Sun journo is getting everyone else to do the running around for him?
Blimey, he's an intelligent one, isn't he? I hope the journo fails miserably. In the world we live in, we know (or get to know) so much about everything else, whether it's relevant or not. And it's refreshing to know that someone can get on with producing something in anonymity, if that's what he/she chooses. |

i think its funny.
dont front! if you dont know who he is, you want to! its the whole point of the mystique. -------------------- gonna throw a pool party

errr yes. but i admire the guys courage to try to remain incognito.. also given what too much exposure does to so called "underground" producers.. invariably they turn into arrogant pricks and their music suffers as a result. he's a refreshing artist, and certainly no "banksy" worth "unmasking". the point is to just let the music do the talking isn't it. |

haha What did Skream do? As for the Sun article, I really doubt whether Burial is too bothered by this. I don't think it is courage to remain anonymous, more like a cleaver marketing scheme a la Banksy. Here's an 'underground' artist getting free pr from one of the most widely read papers in the country. Do you really think he is that upset. Good luck to him and hopefully he will sell a few more units and be able to carry on making music. |

His PR consultant wrote the article for the sun in the first place. Nothing in life is free, not even newspaper articles. -------------------- Every DJ knows exactly how big a 12 inch pizza is

oooof. now THAT'S a conspiracy. |

No conspiracy about it - thats how the PR industry works. Paper gets interesting story with minimum effort, client gets revenue-generating coverage, PRO gets a fat cheque. Everyone's a winner.

this is exactly why i love our british tabloid press. Cause they make a complete mockery of pretensious shite like this. Come on. Do you really think he doesn't want exposure? Doesn't wanna get paid for what he doe's? I don't think so. Scenario - if it do turn out to be norman cook - or darius deneche even. Would you still stand by the music or distance yourself from it..? |

Burial would love all the attention - it would help sales...
