scrimshire- 10-29-2009
This Friday we are having a rather large party at the Scala in Kings Cross to celebrate the 10th Birthday of Wah Wah 45s.

In honour of that occasion I have gone digging through all of my Wah Wah vinyl and picked out some of my personal favourites.

I've known Wah Wah for about 5 years now and have gradually become a part of the family, so this is a fairly special podcast, going back through a lot of memories of parties, places and people that wahwah has brought together over the years.

If you are about on Friday please come down and celebrate with us. I can't wait.

Blimey - where do you start. Wah Wah 45s - HUGE label

Lovely round up scrimpbag!

Sesong - Love Untold - massively overlooked track from 2006. One of my faves on the label

Alison Crockett, Jamie Finlay and Max Cole All massive tracks!

Also need to get that Alister Johnson - Invitation. Blimey - missed that

But the real star of the show is the Quantic remix of Rosie Brown's - Bliss. Such a great 7". Played the original at the first ever worldwide awards and bottled out of playing the Quantic side cos I thought it was too heavy! Killer drums!

Top mix and ace retrospective look back son. Had it on when I was in the bath scrubbing me bits

Oh and next time you see the servini, give him a chinese burn from me and get him to press up the Waiwan remix of Nappy on a 12" please! Think I've got it on a remix album somewhere or other....

Also what did this appear on ?

Aretha - One Step (Featurecast Re-edit)

an obvious one I know BUT it still works well

Thanks chaps.

So, Sesong is one of my faves without a doubt. Written and performed by some amazing musicians including Thomas Dibdahl who is quite massive out in Scandy. A big name and an amazing guitarist/vocalist/songwriter.

Alister Johnson came out on 7" in the summer.

The Alison Crockett/Yam Who? was my first Wah Wah 12" and it is possibly my number one favourite to this day.

The Aretha came out on a Wah Wah Dubplate in the summer. On 7" David. We put out 3 or 4 this year I think including a wicked Donny Hathaway re-edit which will be out shortly.

Alos keep your eyes peeled for "A Wah Wah Christmas" EP, coming soon. I'm just finishing the vocal mix on my track.

xx

Isn't Chris about the loveliest chap you ever met.
I will pass on your love. I think this will be the third time we've supported them.
Always love it.

Hope you enjoy the mix Mike!
