Been very quiet on the buying front from me of late but i did pick up this little beauty on saturday

Is that the ultra rare mono NY address Blue Note pressing - y'know, the one where they spelt his name 'Herbie HANDcock'?!

"oblique" was one of those unissued sessions - first issued on a Japanese only press:

A few bits that I've picked up recently..

The Mislead Children Meet Odean Pope. Good album on a similar vibe to the clutchy Hopkins cdr that was flaoting around a few years ago.
Mulatu/Helocentrics. Brilliant
Joe Harriet - Indo Jazz Suite.
Jazz Bizniz 4.
Nacho Patrol - Futuristic Abeba. Love this ep
Martyn - Great lengths. Big
Hynoptic Brass Ensemble - Alyo/flipside
El Michels Affair - Enter the 37 Chambers

Nice find Mike - I want that one! That version of Red Clay is right up there with Jack Wilkins' - and actually Rare Silk as well (I quite like it anyway).

Yes Tom. Its lovely.
Love the whole lp to be honest.
Also love the Rare Silk version.
Need to get my hands on that one. Don't think it goes for much but have never got round to getting it. Do you know if the rest of the lp is any good?
Or a classic case of a one tracker. cool.gif

Long time, no tell of what has been found/bought/ordered, so

Since the awesome BB Brit Funk special I have found some forgotten gems:

Light Of The World - Round Trip
Light Of The World - Remixed
The Breakfast Band - Dolphin Ride
Central Line - Choice
Central Line - Breaking Point
Level 42 - The Early Tapes
Level 42 - Running In The Family
Freeez - Southern Freeez
Freeez - Anti-Freeez
The Warriors - Behind The Mask
Incognito - Jazz Funk
I-Level - I-Level
I-Level - Shake
First Light - First Light (3 track EP)

and there has been some non Brit Funk as well

Bob Thiele and his Happy Times Orchestra - Light My Fire (incl 'Sophisticated Wheels')
Stanley Turrentine - The Spoiler (incl 'The Magilla' and the samba scorcher 'La Fiesta')

we can now add to this haul another two LPs:

The Players Association - Born To Dance
Taste Of Honey - Ladies Of The Eighties
