Came back last week from a beautiful stay in La Rochelle.

And man is it GOOD cool.gif

They do a Blonde and Amber version which are both amazing but its all about the Brune.
and at 6.5% smile.gif

I brought back as many as I could fit under the kids feet in the back seats but supplies are now low.
Anyone seen it in the shops here????

Always is.

There's some good French beer.

Pelforth can be bought online but it's not cheap

Yesterday I had Ginger Marble, Brooklyn IPA and Landlord.

Cheers amblito.

Yep it does get expensive buying online huh.gif
Need to find a shop me thinks.

What were those like?

Will try that Suffolk Vintage when I get a chance Bobby.
But they got rid of our local Morrison's nearest one now is about 5 miles away. dry.gif

Ginger Marble is made by the Marble Brewery in Manchester, it's a ginger ale as in a ale which tastes of ginger. It's flat and thin, alright as a novelty but you wouldn't want to drink more than one per session.

Brooklyn IPA is an India Pale Ale from America, not as sharp and hoppy as Goose Island IPA - which is a good thing.

Timothy Taylor's Landlord is a fantastic pale ale from Keighley, it's won loads of awards and is Madonna's favourite ale. It's very smooth and taste is slightly reminiscent of figs and bananas. Best to have it before other drinks because it can taste different if you've had something else before it, only problem then is that whatever you have after it will more than likely not be as good.

Great reviews mate.

Timothy Taylor's Landlord - will look out for that. Can you get it in a bottle?

One of the best beers with ginger in I have tasted is our local brewery Blandford fly.
A perfect summer drink.

But does get a bit sickly after a few to many though. smile.gif

Yes, I've only had it on draught though.

San Miguel or Estrella DAMM

San Miguel or Estrella DAMM

Both are fizzy generic style lagers but strangely I don't mind them. Far better than Budweiser.

bevboyz- 06-22-2008
Schneider-Weiss, Chimay or Victoria Bitter for me!

On saturday me and a few housemates pottered down to a beer & cider 'festival' at one of my locals... which turned out to amount to 4 barrels and a couple of folk artists!

Fooled by marketing once again rolleyes.gif

Had myself a Bulmers pear cider - out of curiosity - and was completely underwhelmed. Bland, sweet, tasteless. Pear seems to be the ultimate bandwagon in the cider world right now, but nothing but Kopparberg (and sometimes St Helier) does it for me. Also tried a 9% cider which I think was called Old Rosie. Serious stuff, went down a treat.

Only if chilled down by the super-power fridge in a Spanish bar wink.gif

Olly, my first ice cold Damm drunk outside when I get the chance to get back to Barcelona is always incredible. It's all about context. Damm drunk in my garden in Yorkshire - not as much fun.

They used to do Koppaberg Cranberry Cider at NHAC, very nice

Jacuqes is also quite nice over ice on a sunny day

I dont mind Blumers, its better than Magners, but respect to Magners for turning what was seen as tramps brew into a fashionable drink and making it so appealing over ice - fantastic marketing. All cider companies should be paying homage to Magners for this
