Its a very special Mucho Soul show this week as we focus on the legendary Sunday Afternoon club of the late eighties, early nineties... Talkin Loud @ Dingwalls! The Sunday afternoon Dingwalls sessions have long since passed into London clubbing folk lore but for the past three years in November, for one afternoon only, Janine Neye (original co-promoter) has organised a get together of the original Talkin Loud DJs Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge playing to a ram packed full house crowd of smiling faces and dancing feet. This years Dingwalls event takes place next Sunday 22nd November tickets and further details here: www.dingwalls.com
It's an annual opportunity to celebrate and remember what a force Dingwalls was and we thought we'd mark the occasion this year with a special show dedicated to the spirit of Talkin Loud by playing a selection inspired by both the original sessions and the recent one-off yearly celebrations. In the second hour we are joined by Brownswood Forum Don Brother Dayo who bring his very own Dingwalls hour selection to the decks! Dayo is the first guest to join The Mucho Soul team in the studio and it was a pleasure to have him on board to help select the diverse sounds that made Dingwalls so special. The whole musical spectrum of those legendary sessions is represented covering Jazz, Funk, Soul, Latin and a whole lot more!
