we've got a massive injury crisis

four players = massive?
johnson, gerrard, riera and aquilani (who has never played a premiership game)

shows how strong the squad is i suppose..

(oh, and don't tell anyone, but fulham were missing three definite starters - murphy, davies and johnson)

hahahahaha

massive injury crisis my arse

try looking at us for the last 12 months

Yakubu out for 9 months only just back now.

Arteta , jagielka and Anichibe still out injured from last season

Osman , Vaughan , Pienaar , neville out injured.

yobo and Baines only returned to the team on Saturday after injury

and weve had about 10 bob to spend on players

and fairplay to you for still churning out results

this is the diff b/w moyes and rafa - the former can squeeze a performance out of the 2nd string players, whereas rafa struggles.

nice one dayo! good to hear you got to see the filthy koppites live---schoolboys error tho' sitting with the home fans (altho the gooners must be the least threatening to 'share' the experience with!)- i made that error once at chelski and was extremely unconfortable!!

i was at goodison on saturday to watch us fall victim to abysmal refereeing only getting the draw when 3 points were for the taking. goodison was as wonderful as ever! a true stadium....old skool. we parked up next to anfield as always, a dispicable place but crossed stanley park (looking BUFF in the autumnal sun) to reach the bright side ;-)

have to say, i had my fill of listening to whinging scousers this weekend....from the liverpool perspective, your team was a mere 4 points / 2 games from winning the premiership last season..so why this doubting rafa so much? people histrionics are sooo boring...same for phil brown....he's a wally and his team are doing shit...BUT, it's hull ffs. what do you expect---that they are even in the premisership is a miracle so respects to him!

I went to The Emirates Stadium last week to see the Arsenal/Liverpool Carling Cup match tie. It was my first time ever in a Stadium and – though my team lost - I had a LOVELY time. Liam (bless) sorted out the tickets. We sat in the Arsenal end. It was funny when the Arsenal supporters chanted 'Stand for the Arsenal' - resulting in Liam and I pretending to stand up with the all the 'gooners'. Similarly, I had to laugh when the Liverpool contingent taunted the Arsenal fans, chanting: 'Where are your European cups' wink.gif.

When Liverpool equalised, I forgot myself and jumped up to celebrate; eliciting a few 'looks' from some Arsenal fans lol. All in all, it was a fantastic evening out; the adrenalin of watching a match in a Stadium is surreal. Next stop, Anfield smile.gif.

This is the best post i've read on here in years!!

Hilarious!!

The trouble isThe fans are far to busy Being hypnotised by the pretty patterns created on the field to hark on about 'never walkin alone and such shite' if that's what you judge atmosphere by...

We do our talkin on the pitch this end of north London (waves to Robbie Keane)

Which London club do you lot hate the most ? I have a particular dislike to WestHam. I appreciate our (fulhams) form isnt that good against them. But that effing song about bubbles, pikey supporters and Danny Dyer wannabes really get on my tits. When we played them last season I had never seen so many supporters get arrested (theirs of course). They sneaked into our end and started cheering their own on. Plus 2 german shepherds and a pitbull doning the club flags. Was half expecting a caravan parked up to Johnny Haynes. And Scott Parker is a cock.

you lot want to stop moaning about injuries, at least they'll come back, we've sold half our team. We now have a team made up of kids, half of them are 21 or less, and loanees, resulting in random results, beating M'Boro away, tonking Sheff Wed 4-1 and than getting royally stuffed at West Brom.
Still fuck it, that's football, at least we have a decent board and a young manager who likes the game played properly and bloods youth team players and for the first time in ages it feels like we have our club back.

to many interesting possibilites for liverpool really..

If Benitez does get sacked it will most likely be as we get knocked out of Europe (or in part due to that) so

not making the next round of Europe this year will cost Millions of £££
not making it into Europe for next year will cost Millions of £££££

Benitez gets sacked which after just signing what was it a new 5 year Deal will cost the club a good Few million at least ...

If Benitez gets sacked and Madrid / Barcelona / Man City / CHelsea come in with money for Gerrard or Torres would they Stay or GO??????

Will any of this convince those bastard americans to Sell???

Would anyone want to buy us at the moment for the price that is being asked???

Who (that the fans feel is right) would want to manage us at the moment???

DOes the above change if Gerrard and/or Torres Left????

How good would Ryan Babel be right now if he would have gone to Arsenal???

its all a massive kick in the balls really but still YNWA ....

and listen to Dayo and Listen to my new podcast I think its quite good. http://jazznotjazz.podomatic.com

Come on Dayo, give him a break. We've just beaten Man U, and we've got a massive injury crisis. Admittedly the squad could be stronger and that's his fault, but it doesn't mean he isn't the man to put things right. His team at full-strength can beat any team in the world.

Reckon at this stage after 5 seasons, to think that Benitez is still the man to put things right is overly, and in my opinion, blindly optimistic. The squad on the whole is pretty much as average as Ged Houllier's was, even after signing nearly 70 players in 5 years.

We had our best chance to win the League last year which was hamstrung by Benitez's stubborn refusal to play his best 11 against the so-called weaker times and adopt frankly bizarre formations at home against the likes of Wigan and Stoke, ultimately leading to drawn games and dropped points.

Change is required, methinks.

There seems to be some belief that Liverpool should be winning the league.

Why? What gives Liverpool the right to the league? Yeah it's been ages since they did, but it will take as long as it takes. This is not Championship Manager, you can't just snap your fingers and win the league - it is a very fucking hard thing to do, and last season, in a very competitve league Liverpool nearly did it (with 86 points), and finished ahead of a team managed by a genius (Arsenal) and a team with a squad rammed full of £20m+ players (Chelsea). And yes, if it wasn't for a few errors by Benitez, then Liverpool might have won it. But focusing on Benitez's errors last season ignores everything he got right - which wasn't far from everything.

How do Liverpool, without the financial clout of United and Chelsea, win the league? They have to have very strong foundations, like United have, and it takes time.

After Fergie's fourth season in charge of United, they finished 13th. In his fifth season, they finished 6th. In his sixth season? 2nd.

Only in his seventh season did Fergie win the title (with only 84 points from 42 games!)

Would he have survived today to see that seventh season with that record, in a world of rampant sensationalist tabloid 'comment' and inane radio phone-ins.

No.

So will making a change bring Liverpool a league title any quicker? No, it will take much longer, and would involve bringing in the right man, which there is no guarantee of.

In my opinion, the best chance Liverpool have of winning a league title is to see Rafa's long-term project through.

Yes he has made mistakes, and his team is currently paying for the Alonso/Barry debacle, but he has proven time after time that he has top-class tactical acumen and motivational skills, his teams can compete against anyone in the world, and he can learn from his mistakes (he rotates no more than anyone else now). As it stands, he is the best man for the job.

On Wednesday Liverpool will go to Lyon and with an injury-stricken team I believe will get a draw that will keep their hopes of CL qualification alive. If United get anything from their game with Chelsea on Sunday, then Liverpool will know that winning at home to Birmingham on Monday will bring them 7 points behind the leaders - a defecit that is not unassailable at this stage of the season.

No Liverpool fan is happy with the current situation, but the season is not won or lost in November and all this reactionary bullshit is tiresome - just wait till the end of the season and then judge.

I strongly believe that young folk should not get the message that drugs are relatively harmless however as a staunch cynic and a seasoned misanthrope with gregarious leanings it seems the powers that be didn't hear the answer they wanted so have to push this learned man with an unfortunate manner in wording his argument aside in favour of some brown-nosed yes-men.
