What an awesome mix Dayo. You know I had a headache before I started listening and was unsure about delving into a strictly Jazz zone, but its cleared my head and and I'm now feeling a real sense of appreciation for all the good things in my life. Its tapped in deep and moved me to a better dimension. Much obliged sir ! Looking forward to the soon-come track list. I'm wondering where on earth did you dig out these gems ?

mattPaulSmith- 08-21-2009
Thanks for this Dayo and Liam, currently downloading this from my hotel room in The Hague (I've escaped from the International Criminal Court... only joking ohmy.gif )

Look forward to listening surreptitiously to this at some point today.

Big respect - cheers.

hey dudes... i'm told the download rate is very slow at the moment. Sorry about that - blame Podomatic! I've chucked a few quid at it and increased the bandwidth so hopefully that will help

Wicked mix as always D - and thanx for my tune, I recognized it immediately! NICE lick!
A really superb selection - X-TRA LARGE RISPEX!

You know how I feel

listened to yours Liam yesterday. some proper belters on it especially early doors, but also a couple of jams that weren't my cuppa. nice mix of different styles though. future tip off though tag em up so that the downloader doesn't have to rename the file to know who's mix they are listening to.

Dayo - in your own words 'soon come' wink.gif

Once again, many thanks to you all for your kind honest comments both here and through other mediums. It's important you know how much it means!! It's never taken for granted, i can assure you.

I've almost finished writing the all important comment an' ting. I will post it up very soon.

Snoops - i knew you'd recognise 'that' lick. haha bless big bro - always.

*I also passed through to pass comment on Liam's wicked deep house mix (which i listened to yesterday). DEEP DEEP DEEP.

Standouts (all the tunes are ace):

Will Downing "In My Dreams [Arthur Baker Remix]" - I never knew Arthur Baker did a remix of this track. It was massive with me in 1988 (i think!!). Proper UK soulbwoy music. Loving the deep Arthur Baker twist.

Tom Browne "ByeGones [Aaron Jerome Rmx]" - yes this is badd. Aaron (respect always, sir) - sent it to me a few weeks back. I also seem to recall Patrick Forge (full respect) playing it at Liam's Spacebass gig a few months back. DREAD TUNE.

Omar S "Give It To Me) - FXHE" - What a tune. 4.am in the morning biznizz.

*Lovely lovely mix. Please listen to Liam's mix - you will not be disappointed. Nice one Liam.

cheers fella.. always appreciate your feedback

I did tag the mp3 up, so not sure what happened there. Probably bloody podomatic!

Dayo - thanks for you kind words... thought you'd like the Will Downing biggrin.gif

Love Aaron's work on the Tom Browne - he always delivers

much love much love

I'm no good at feedback Dayo but for your mix i will attempt a couple of lines. Very nice to hear a good variety of bits - lots of interesting things such as the hip hop sounding beats, the Jackson instrumental thing, but what is this (French sounding?) dubby/spacey thing at 1hr 17mins? It's a need!

Finally finished downloading this and got it playing now....

Only 12 minutes in so far, but just wanted to show some love for Joe Henderson "El Barrio" - love it! And probably my favourite of his .

Also featured on one of my Modality mixes... wink.gif

OK, finished this on the plane back to Blighty this eve... lovely Dayo (not got around to liamski's house mix yet), not good at full reviews either, plus can't remember what's what as was in transit, I need a few, full listen agains over the next week or two, but I also loved the Jackson instrumental, then OMG... I love that mad version of "I Want You", (did you speed it up slightly?!? or are my ears broken a bit laugh.gif ) I reckon that is my fave track off the album, (track 3?) I remember I couldn't find the original on vinyl so bought the re-issue about 10 years ago ( ohmy.gif sorry).

What I do remember: who is our good friend, she who starts belting it out at 34 mins, it's on the tip of my tongue, (I have it!), but all my vinyl being in the loft I can't check and it's been a long and very tiring week now, arrghh, then straight after at 39 mins that is also properly a bit of me, mmmm...

Lush Dayo, good work sir, some good memories stirred. Love it.

Just started listening and loving the heavy percussive vibe. 15 minutes in and this sounds very like Elvin on drums. Looking forward to checking the tracklist
