Beane was more battered than a Harry Ramsden Haddock tongue.gif He was muttering on to me, giving me a hard time about something I had no idea about before I left. Surprised he made it home, matt must have looked after him well.

Great to meet so many people last night, hope you all enjoyed our night/venue/vibe and was worth all your efforts to get to the Midlands.

Beane's visuals get better every month too, unlike his mic skills rolleyes.gif

I played

O.D.B. - Shimmy Shimmy Ya
Dead Prez - Hip Hop
Fela Kuti - Shakara
Bugz In The Attic - Zombie
Batu - Seasons Of My Mind
Negrocan - Superstition
Tania Maria - Yatra-Ta (Live Version)

Big thanks to everyone who made it down, apologies to those who's sets I missed, unfortunately a teething 5 month old means a lack of sleep. Big, big apologies to Simon Jazzchops whose drinks vouchers I found in my pocket this morning.

Highlights for me:
Mike playing Cameo
M-Cutz staggering about
Beane on the mic
John Cyclonix set of jazz dance and bass bin wobblers
Talking bollox to anyone who was dopey enough to engage me in conversation
that giant 'woman'

Rare Colour and Esther, Jimi OH. Sorry I couldn't stay for your set Jimi.

blimey, he was wearing that habit last night

Beane the Noodler- 10-31-2009
Bloody hell. I'm mash up. Few cuts and bruises and some very wonky glasses but other than that I'm ok. The kebab shop sorted me out. Needed chilli sauce

BIG night tho - thanks for all those that came down/up and thought everyone played a blinder. Proper selections all round. Was a funny old night, from M-Cutz asleep on the sofa before his set to Naz's impromptu MC set. It all got far too saucy tho. Should of slowed down on the booze a bit

I think I played

Daz I Kue - Bloodfire Volume One
Orlann Divo - Beleza Não Vai Embora
Sérgio Mendes - Rhoda
JAM - Quiet fire
The Kongos - Anikano-O
Femi Kuti - Beng Beng Beng (Da Lata remix)

Right - off to do a bloody bar shift at the MHYH halloween birthday party. Proper wobbly unsure.gif

I am playing dubstep all night mate. Nothing but reversing lorry bangers from me all night. Am gonna slap you on the back a few times as well and shout in your ear a lot as well.

Hope you don't mind.

Good set. Respect on the accents too.

wow that was a really nice night - props to Wrighty & co for organising it and making me extremely welcome - had some great convs too, with Mr Alcock (first time since the wedding!), dr jazzchops, pickering and the soulful deviant - great visuals and sets.

I don't generally drink much these days so that was herculean - I'm sure the decibel levels increased as the night wore on (sorry bout that) - rtn train is a blur, the tube to London Bridge apocalyptic, the bus after that a dystopian nightmare

*beanewatch* - last seen leaving mcutz at kebab shop and vanishing into the night. And with that, my brief experience of Nottingham came to an end.

played one of the early slots

john barry - theme from the persuaders
al stewart - year of the cat
wally badarou - mambo
santana - song of the wind
flash and the pan - waiting for a train
flowered up - weekender (RIP Liam Maher)
fitzcarraldo variations - mediterraneans
john barry - theme from midnight cowboy

thanks again for a top night - next stop > Hastings Nov 14th!

I second that, the soulbuggin team did a great job again, will definitely be back for future events. M25 was a bit of a drag but got there on time! I didn't get chance to meet everyone but really good chatting with Steve and Mark, Olly, Dave P, Mike and M-Cutz. All lovely people. Thanks to Wrighty for helping me out - I played a few downtempo favourites in a terribly cued and irregular fashion;

Chinese New Year - Heliocentrics
Make me Stronger - Georgia Ann Muldrow (FPS mix)
Virgin Man - Smokey Robinson
Tune Up - Andy Bey
A Day in the Life - Chocolate Snow
Fabrica - Cesar Mariano & CIA
No Hay Nada Mas - Mos Def
The Wolf - Menahan Street Band
Tezetaye Antchi Lidj - Mulatu

heres to the next one smile.gif
