Many thanks, have ordered a copy.

p.s Steve Williams, UK Vibe? Vibe was one of the groundbreaking journals of the scene, at times even better than SNC. Good to hear Steve is still involved in the scene.

Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to reading this. A couple of visits to the HiHat in the mid-90s were the best taste this Aussie got of the jazz dance scene. Respect to Snowboy and also to Phil Levene (who frequents this board) and was also spinning then. Snowboy's email about the last HiHat session was very sad.

Not the catchiest title is it? Sounds like a set text for "o" level students.

Why not just:

"jazz is our religion"

This book has been a long long time coming - let's hope it does the subject justice.

I know Snowboy interviewed the legendary Hugh Albert a few years back so am looking forward to mention of the cutting edge sessions - always thus far overlooked.

I want to buy my copy in a proper shop - anyone seen it for sale in one yet?

...the legendary Hugh Albert...

one of the bag boys

you hear the session he did for Gerald's radio show? worth pulling from the jazzman site, some lovely modal things, nothing scary rare but lots of nice tunes, well put together.

Been on at Mr. Albert only last week about the encounters and behind the scene's dealings that he should get down in writing....

Would certainly cast a different light on a few well known people....

For a "history" it must be a bit of a short read then.
