Nice one Kerry. It's in my speakers right now. This mix is right up my street; a lot of boogie faves from my yout'. Still love The Controllers' "Stay" after all these years. An allout party classic. The SOS Band's "No One's Gonna Love You" is totally out of the hat. A Bonafide Lagos classic. And shout to Simon Purnell on the Sunburst Band's "Everyday" - loved it when he exlusively played it at a feel up gig a few months ago. Raw Silk's "Do It The Music" takes me back to the warehouse party last week when Liam memorably dropped the blaze remix (big tune). And long time no hear on Sunfire's "Never To Late" - bad track.

Looking fwd to listening to Phylis Hyman's "You Know How To Love Me" - a summer classic if ever there was one.

*Oh, loving Cool Million's 'comment and ting' as well. Respect.

soon-come

As promised a few weeks back we're delighted to present the second guest mix from Friend of Feel Up Simon ‘Freaked’ Brant.

Simon was taken from us close to his 34th birthday in 2006 after losing a short, tough battle against Leukaemia. A Northampton native, Simon moved to London and worked as a web designer, becoming an integral part of the BBC online development team which allowed him to combine his love of online media with his passion for music. Alongside this Simon also wrote a monthly column – ‘Freaked’ – in music magazine Straight No Chaser and made frequent DJ appearances, amassing not only hundreds of amazing records but also an army of devoted fans and friends – if you were into your music and spent any time in Shoreditch in the early days chances are you’d have bumped into him.

Simon was a keen cyclist and for the past few years a group of his closest friends have been honouring his memory by riding the 26 miles of the London Bikeathon - raising money for Leukaemia Research, the only national charity dedicated exclusively to funding research throughout the UK into the causes, treatments and cures of all blood cancers.

You can sponsor ‘Team Freaked’ and help make a difference right here: http://www.justgiving.com/TeamFreaked.

Thank you

Billie & Kerry xx

This week we welcome back Joey Negro to Feel Up, this time with a mix under his 'unashamedly musical' guise, The Sunburst Band. Joey, aka Dave Lee has been producing as the Sunburst Band since 1998 with three albums to his credit. Now his Z Records label has collected together all the best remixes old and new onto one double unmixed CD.

There's also a competition running to Remix the Sunburst Band's cover of David Bowie's 'Fashion'. Any styles will be accepted and you could get your remix released on Z and go into the studio with Joey Negro to mix and master your winning Remix.

Check the Z Facebook group for all the details:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5577417010

Here's the tracklist for the mix:

Serious Intention - You Don't Know
Floating Points/Real To Real - Love Me Like This
Jestofunk - You Gonna Love Me
Pieces Of A Dream - Mt. Airy Groove
Spanky Wilson & The Quantic Soul Orchestra - Waiting For Your Touch (Domu Mix)
Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band - Put A Lyric In It (The Revenge Mix)
Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band - Sitting On Top of The World (DJ Meme Mix)
Mario Bondi - This Is What You Are
Agora - Montayo (Mark Grant Club Mix)
Toto - Georgie Porgie
The Sunburst Band - Everyday (Cool Million Mix)
Lee Oscar - Feeling Happy
Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band - Free Bass (Joey Negro Extended Mix)
Faze Action - Venus & Mars

I listened to half of this mix on Friday night; So good to hear Reel To Reel's original version of "Love Me Like This" again; it takes me back to a time and a place (whispers-esque) and, Jestofunk's "You Gonna Love Me" always reminds me of Jim and Kerry - big tune. My tune of the mix (so far) is Spanky Wilson & The Quantic Soul Orchestra's "Waiting For Your Touch [Domu Mix]" - shockingly good!

Mario Bondi's "This Is What You Are" was big with Norman Jay a few years back!

Lovely mix - big up Joey Negro.

soon-come
