Loved the opening Pharoah Sanders tune (what album is that on?!) – deep. And I know you’ve always loved Bennie Maupin’s “Quasar” – Big tune. Loved the way you beat-mixed La Funk Mob into the Reggie Dokes track: Proper deep house just the way you know we like it.

BFC’s “Galaxy” is/was my tune of the mix. Proper old-skool sounding techno.

the pharoah tune is from his 1996 album on verve... entitled 'message from home'



not only a beautiful, deep album ('nozipho' is the tune gilles played from it) but one of my favourite covers of all time

bill laswell produced and a serious line up including michael white on violin, william henderson on piano and bernie worrell on keys

'ocean song' was also the 1st tune i played at plastics that time alongside john boy
