Alan Braxe vs The Beastie Boys - Intergalactic
I've got that one in a cupboard somewhere.

I also had a AMV "funk phenomenon" bootleg mashup type thing about 10 years ago that sounded good at the time. Can't remember the vocal though. Remember it costing me about £12, one sided I think as well. My late 90s early 00s house collection is a tad embarrassing in places.

So I was kinda wondering if anyone would have a go at it, and lo and behold they have. New Moxie 12" is an edit of ""Let Me Show You (the Way To Go)".
Other two tracks on there sound nice tho. Haven't heard em before

Nah... LATINO RAVE.
Or... Megabass "I think it's time to make the floor burn"
Or, even earlier... the Mirage "Jack mix" series
Well ahead of Jive Bunny.

Latest from Moton is sounding nice - especially as I've been after "Going up in smoke" for yonks now. Not sure if these are straight up boots of the originals or slight re-edits. Either way it's proper kicking off over on DJ History over these
A1 - Come Back Home B1 - Going Up In Smoke B2 - A Message
Aye, some pissing and moaning about this on DJH. Don't think there was a conclusion as to whether the tracks had been edited or just straight up booted. Always wondered that about the Slow To Speak label - they've put out some HUGE tracks by major artists that you wouldn't think they would be able to afford to license, and I can never tell if they've done anything to the tracks either.
Thats not Eddie K though Beane
Grabbed this because it is an ACE version of 'Going up in smoke' but it's certainly not Eddie Kendricks and that is the version... No idea who it is though.
Moton is a funny old label...

jive bunny still mashes a dance. yeah it's cool to be snobby about how cheesy it is, but it's way better than many of these bollocks "loop the first bar for 8 mins" edits nowadays
i do love a bit of cut n paste. the other song i liked around that time was Marrs Pump Up The Volume.

jive bunny is cheesy. nothing snobby about not wanting to listen to mash up of the hawaii five-o theme and chubby checker and whatever.
double dee & steinski were alright.

i just read this little nugget about the guy behind jive bunny on wikipedia:
"Andy Pickles later went on to found hard house record label Tidy Trax with fellow DJ Amadeus Mozart"
Ben Dover- 08-04-2009
and one of the jive bunny dudes is in fact eric prydz , ive been reliably informed.

i dunno i think there is a cultural barrier with jive bunny, it's a bit like abba, we all hate it because it's jive bunny. or because they're abba. but if you stand back a bit you can appreciate that tuttifrutti and hawaai 5-0 are quite well edited together on it. this is the point. as a child i heard that i went "wow it's like a dj on a record" etc etc. same with double dee & steinski. building blocks that get us to where we are. Jive Bunny culturally acclimatised the dancefloor to the wonderful edits-embracing world we now live in. You don't have to like it to accept its influence.
plus i pulled out jive bunny and mixed it in at a mashed up party and it was tune of the sodding night. so many of these intelligent dance music records are fuckin boring when your drunk. i love that spirit of the "anything goes" party records of the late 80s, early 90s. "lets just bung it all in there jeff, if they don't like that they'll like the next bit".
