Austria does sound interesting... heard good things about Graz recently. hmm....

don't forget graz is a small town. it's lovely, and has a lot of great festivals - nothing in winter though. it's supposedly the austria city with the most beautiful girls, which i can't confirm. all i remember is one brothel per block (maybe that's where those girls are!).

let me know if you plan coming to vienna, will show you around

Anyone any thoughts about Stockholm v Helsinki v Oslo for a long weekend?

done all three and liked Helsinki the best, but it depends on what you are going for - eg. Stockholm probably has best nightlife

we're visiting friends in stockholm for five days in march. taking the baby with us too

just found it's bloody -5°C out there in march, they didn't warn us. ha

I HATE GERMAN MARKETS

Why? I love them me, but then I like anything with sausages and lager.

You can't eat the sausages from there though, unless you've gone back to eating meat. The lager is overpriced and fizzy.

It would be good if they did something a bit different, it's the same every year.

Mrs Ford has just come back from New York and I am still jealous.

I did get a black IheartNY tee shirt though, so that seems fair....

Yes, I was being absolutely serious when I wrote that.

My two choices would be austria or iceland. went to austria as a kid to ski but know there are lots more walking options in austria than some other places where you get a lot of skiing.

Beautiful countryside, lovely hot chocolate, plenty of potatoes.

If I could fford a holiday over christmas I'd be straight off to Iceland this year. No doubt.

I was in Canada for Christmas last year and LOVED it. I was skiing a bit but enjoyed it in general - even with the minus 25 degrees, nose-hair-freezing cold.

The country is huge and beautiful, quite awe inspiring. Go stay with my mum sid in Kicking Horse.
